How It Works
The Energy Director™ supervises power demand levels and controls energy loads to keep demand peaks within user-defined limits.  It uses real-time energy usage and cost data by connecting to the facility’s utility meters. Predictive algorithms, refined over many applications allow for the systems to identify short, precisely-timed load reduction opportunities.

Utilizing direct I/O, remote I/O and/or information exchange with existing control systems, the Energy Director monitors and adjusts the run status of each connected load in order to avoid costly coincidental peaks.  The Energy Director allows the user to set and adjust a demand limiting setpoint or will calculate the most efficient setpoint and adjust it automatically. Although the Energy Director can provide all necessary direct load automation it DOES NOT need to replace your existing control system.  It can very seamlessly integrate with your current system. 

The Predikt™ software allows the user to configure as many operational rules and constraints as necessary for each controlled load so that energy savings do not negatively affect productivity, human comfort, or safety.  By properly managing energy demand in conjunction with known utility cost thresholds and operational constraints the Energy Director significantly reduces overall energy costs.

The Powerit Solutions Energy Director™ predicts, regulates, and lowers facility peak electrical demand to significantly reduce utility charges. Here’s how the process works:  
  1. The system gathers real-time meter data
  2. The Energy Director™ calculates necessary curtailment
  3. Available loads are evaluated and categorized for reduction
  4. The system takes coordinate action to mitigate peak charges and avoids disruption to production.
  5. Predikt™ software confirms reduction using meter data
  6. Savings are verified and documented via reports
